Our little one has arrived!

IMG_20140416_095506

We are so pleased to announce the arrival of Willow Andrea!  She was born on Wednesday, April 16th at 8:23 a.m.  She was 20 inches long at 6 pounds 9 ounces.  She is healthy, beautiful, and content. She has been such an amazing baby so far!  We had such a wonderful, positive experience with the adoption and we couldn’t have asked for a better birth mother to be matched with.  We were so happy we are able to maintain a relationship with Willow’s birth family to bring even more love into her world.  We just wanted to thank everyone for helping to make this experience possible.  We won’t know what we would have done without you.  She is such a dream come true.

Happy New Year!

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to say happy holidays to everyone!  We hope you had wonderful holidays no matter what you celebrate and we wish you the very best in the coming new year!  We sincerely hope this will be the year that our lives will change forever.  We will be sharing with you our progress as we move forward, but for now, we will remain patient.  Thank you for all of your support over the holidays at the various fairs and Leslie’s etsy shop has now reopened.  We would also like to say we are very very very close to reaching our fundraising goals, so we will keep the shop open to raise the last little bit of funds until we are matched.  But, to help with the wait, we thought we would share some of our finished nursery pictures.  We hope you enjoy, we want to fill our child’s life with color and excitement!  Plus, a dinosaur Leslie made for our future little one and the rug she finished from left over t-shirt pieces from the scarves she makes.

❤ Leslie & Steven

Update: Upcoming Holiday Events and where we are now!

Hello everyone!

Just wanted to send out a shout out for your continued support. We have had a lot of Etsy sales lately through Leslie’s shop and we have had great success at local sales recently. At this time, we are still waiting on the call to hear if we have been chosen by our soon to be birth parents. We are so much closer to our goal, so we have been only doing a few select Christmas shows this year as we wait for the call. Also, we didn’t want to sign up for too much and suddenly we have a child to take care of. We just ask you to continue with your positive thoughts and hopes for us while we do our best to remain patient while we wait for the greatest gift in our lives.

Our next events will be on the same day, Saturday December 7th! The first event is at Floyd Central High School’s Holiday Bazaar from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. The address is 6575 Old Vincennes Rd Floyds Knobs IN. The second event is at the Mama’s Hip Holiday Bazaar from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. The address is 1559 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40205.

Hope to see you there!  As a reminder, if you plan to place a Christmas order through Leslie’s shop, the last day to guarantee Christmas delivery is December 12th.  This gives Leslie time to make the items and get them on their way to you.

❤ Leslie & Steven

Now we wait and hope

The expectant mother letters have been mailed and posted. Just to let you know how it goes from here, an expectant mother will read our letter once she decides to make this difficult but courageous choice for her child. She will choose the adoptive parents based on the letter she reads. Now we wait and hope for the very best. Its very tricky to tell you when it could happen because it could be any day, a few months down the road, or longer. Now we must all be patient and the moment we know we will be sharing our news! Just hope for us and send us positive and happy vibes.

Exciting News: Highlands Fest is coming! AND we are signing the papers with our attorneys this week!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to send out an update since our approval to adopt since many of you may be wondering what happens next and how long could it be. We are going to officially send in our paperwork to the attorney’s this week to begin the process of finding our birth parents. We are working hard on drafting our letter. This letter is read by the birth parents and the information within this letter is what the birth parents will pick us based on. The time range is wide once we are chosen because the birth mother could have already given birth or she may only be a few months along. We appreciate your patience on our journey and know that we are very excited to be in the final stages.

Just so you know, we are still working on fundraising through Leslie’s Etsy shop, so don’t forget to check out her store for Christmas presents or for your own accessorizing. 🙂 Leslie will be setup for Highlands Fest this year in Louisville, KY on Saturday Sept. 14th. The festival runs from 1 p.m. – 11 p.m. We hope to see you there!

❤ Leslie and Steven
